Final issue offers vows for the future

feature storyGO

The first issue of Peace Seeds appeared on January 29, 2007. This issue, number 107, will be the final issue of our newspaper. For more than five years, the junior writers of this "virtual peace garden" have reported on peace issues from a variety of viewpoints. Among our achievements, we carried out a survey of visitors to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park every August 6, the anniversary of the atomic bombing; we helped organize the APEC Junior Conference and other events to discuss our daily efforts and thoughts concerning peace; and we published a book and produced a DVD.

The junior writers will now continue their efforts for peace in new ways. We hope our paths will cross again in the future.

Free DVD introduces "Peace Seeds"

We have produced a DVD called "Welcome to Peace Seeds" which introduces the activities of the junior writers. If schools or organizations would like to have a copy, we will send this DVD to you at no charge. Please make good use of the DVD to help with publishing a school newspaper or peace education activities.

The DVD runs about 9 minutes and 30 seconds. It shows the junior writers meeting to discuss the topics we report on, our coverage in the field, and the process of writing the articles to produce the newspaper. Former junior writers also talk about what they learned from their Peace Seeds experience.

To inquire about the DVD, contact us through this website or phone (from overseas) 81-82-236-2714.
