Jobs for the disabled

feature storyGO

For this issue of Peace Seeds, we look at "jobs for the disabled" and we explore such things as the low wages that people with disabilities receive and how goods produced in workshops with disabled workers can be made more popular among the public.

With the cooperation of Yuuki Fukushikai, an organization located in the city of Shobara, north of Hiroshima, which runs a social welfare facility, we joined the disabled workers there to come up with a name for their new brand of mineral water and the design for the label which will appear on the bottles.

Free DVD introduces "Peace Seeds"

We have produced a DVD called "Welcome to Peace Seeds" which introduces the activities of the junior writers. If schools or organizations would like to have a copy, we will send this DVD to you at no charge. Please make good use of the DVD to help with publishing a school newspaper or peace education activities.

The DVD runs about 9 minutes and 30 seconds. It shows the junior writers meeting to discuss the topics we report on, our coverage in the field, and the process of writing the articles to produce the newspaper. Former junior writers also talk about what they learned from their Peace Seeds experience.

To inquire about the DVD, contact us through this website or phone (from overseas) 81-82-236-2714.
